The currency in Argentina is called ‘peso’ and it can be divided into 100 cents. Both coins and notes are available in this currency. The denominations of the coins are 1 cent, 5 cents, 10 cents, 25 cents, 50 cents and 1 peso. The denominations of notes are $2, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100. The TESOL trainees will not have much problems because $ is used everywhere in the country and they can exchange the foreign currency in banks or in the authorized bureaus. ATMs are available in every corner of the country and the cash machines of the banks are connected with the international networks like Citibank, Visa, Maestro, Master card, Plus, Cirrus etc. if they want to cash their traveler check, they can do so in bank or in traveler agents. Credit cards are accepted in most of the stores, restaurants, bars and businesses. American Express, Diners Club are also accepted widely.

The state-owned banks dominate the Argentine banking system. The private commercial banks, the government owned commercial banks are always there to cater the financial transactions of the TESOL trainees. The names of some of the banks in Argentina are given below –
