Brazil is a devout catholic country which was a Portuguese colony for about 300
years. The Portuguese not only was able to rule the country but had infused
their culture, language and traditions in to the colonists. Another factor,
which influences Brazilian culture in a huge way, is the African population who
were brought as slaves. But Brazil however was able to retain the age old Indian
traditions of South America. The unique blend of various cultures, traditions
and customs has given Brazil its very exclusive characteristics. The inter
marriage amongst various communities results in beautiful culture, which Brazil
possess.
Like most parts of the world, families play a very important part in the
Brazilian society. The economic divide in Brazil is quite visible as wealth is
