The official currency of Turkey is Turkish Lira. One unit if Turkish Lira is divided in to 100 Kurush. There are both coins and paper money in Turkey. The paper currency of Turkey are of denominations are of 1000, 5000, 20,000, 50,000 and 100,000. Inflation rate is very high in Turkey thus coins are almost obsolete.

Exchange rates in Turkey are quite good thus the visitors should try exchange money from here. You can also use traveler’s check while you are in Turkey. As the currency rates are dipping regularly it is important to check the dollar and Euro rates regularly.

Banking in Turkey:
There are foreign banks, public banks and private banks in Turkey. The local Turkish banks are usually under the TMSF. Some of the foreign banks, which operate in Turkey, are:
