During the three weeks stay in USA, the TESOL trainees might get the chance to enjoy some of the beautiful festivals.
The New Year celebration is one of the gorgeous events which are celebrated with lots of fun and enjoyment. People attend late night parties, social gathering with friends and families and wish to have a very prosperous new year to each other.
Another special festival in USA is Good Friday which symbolizes the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Easter Sunday follows the resurrection of Christ. During this festival eggs are decorated beautifully and children are given confectionary that denotes new life.
4th July, 1776 is the most important day in the history of USA, because that day proclaimed the advent of new era in the lives of the American people. In The Independence Day the grand display of the fireworks, parades are really a treat to watch. Lots of other activities like games, parties etc give a lot of enjoyment to the people.
The festival called Halloween gives a great excitement to the children because in that day children go out at night to their neighbor to ask for candy. They put on the costumes of the ghost, fairy or cartoon etc according to their wish. If anyone does not give the candy to the children, he or she will have to face tricks and pranks, but it is true that no one does this.
The Thanks Giving Day which is followed on the fourth Thursday in November celebrates to thank God. The history behind the celebration of the day is that God helped the pilgrims of Plymouth Colony to survive the chilling cold.
The most popular festival in USA is the celebration of the birthday of Jesus Christ on 25th December. People buy and exchange gifts with their relatives for this occasion, decorate houses with lights and Christmas trees. And there is no need to mention that cake is one of the important parts of the celebration.
